Raleigh Competition Mk.II Bicycle Model DL165 |
Bicycle book author Eugene Sloane is shown riding a 1973 or 1974 model of the Raleigh Competition bike on the last page of "The New Complete Book of Bicycling" and also on the dust jacket for the book. The Competition Mk.II was notable for using Huret Jubilee derailleurs on the front and rear. The Jubilee rear derailleur was the lightest rear model ever made for about 40 years. It wasn't surpassed until carbon fiber construction was applied to derailleurs. |
