With a one page supplement from what I gathered.

Buy It Now $14.72, free shipping and I have no idea why there two WATCHERS and not a BUYER for such a thing. We probably know it's either two of us or two who are trying to figure out what laserdisc played it is.

I just bought it.

If I had a working scanner, I would create a PDF of it if anyone would want one.

The manual does not cover the SJT-400 model unfortunately. You can't win them all.

What's your scanner model, is it an operating system/driver issue and can you install with a compatibility mode installation (run as)?

My scanner gave out about 7-8 years ago. One day it worked and the next day nothing.

Based on how the manual is assembled, I am thinking of making photocopies available to those who want a copy. (I say "assembled" as the manual may be stapled together which would make it fairly easy to disassemble.) The other way is to give Tom Howe a copy and let him post it on this forum if he would.

I stated earlier that the manual is not for the SJT-400 players of which I have one. I do have an SJT-200 non-working player that I will use the manual for. Maybe it will allow me to change a part in the player and make it operational.

I was wondering about the manual. It is copyrighted 1983 and is for the SJT-100/200/300 players. What year did the SJT-400 players come on the market? Maybe, just maybe the manual will cover some of the repairs for the 400 model.

FYI: The manual has at least 62 pages in it based on the table of contents.

You could go find one of those HP all in one printer-copier-scanner units dirt cheap on a classifieds site/paper...see if you can find the drivers for your OS...while the printer part can be junk, you can use the scanner at least.

Cheap and sleazy, but it can work.

I'm sure Tom would love to have it, if he doesn't already. Actually, cedatum would be the probable best way to go.

if im not mistaken, its about 70 pages, and has about 5 ot 6 foldouts, josh asked me if i could scan my copy to a pdf for him, if you are willing to do it iim sure he would greatly appreciate it!

i have the 400 manual, it is separate. because it has its own ic boards, it was enough to require a separate manual, but as far as mechanical issues and basic playback functionality they are the same

I would love to have a copy of the SGT-250 SM myself, if only to make sure I get it apart and together right. I wanted to send off to Daxi Don/cedatum for the Frankenstereo 090's cart but A)Who knows what happened to it now and B)The money runs out quickly lately and I budget a month or two ahead on my fixed income.

I got my SJT-400 in September. I posted on another thread that it would not spin the turntable up nor would it show side 1 or 2 ; but, both side 1 and 2 lights would come on. I also noticed that one of the white microswitches under the transfer rod coupling looks to be loose. If that switch turns on the turntable then that is the player's problem. The service manual should tell me if that is the case.

The SJT-200 that I have that is not working has a part broken that is just behind the front panel. It is part of the disc retrieval mechanism. Blindfury sent me a replacement for it; but, no instructions. I hope the manual will shed some light on its replacement.

There is an office supply company near me that can scan documents and put the file on a USB drive. I can either send a copy to Tom Howe or send it to those who want a copy by e-mail.

The manual came Friday and includes 2 small addendums. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday and will take it in to town to see about getting it scanned. The SM has 4 foldouts each being 3 pages wide. There is one foldout being 2 pages wide. Those foldouts are going to be a b**ch to scan, IMHO.

i am not sure what size scanner the office supply store has. I have had them color copy a CED caddy label i(The Adventures of the Little Prince) n the past with out any trouble. I did a copy of a good caddy label so as to overlay it over a caddy with 2 defects on it. The copier did not do the entire label which is okay as the sides of the caddy are white plastic anyway.

How did you staple your booklet back together?

Staples/other office stores/printers can re-staple/bind your manual, for a charge, or if you know where a long form or booklet stapler is at you can use The expense of buying one is not worth it unless you are going to be using it frequently.

I dropped off the SM at my office supply store for scanning this morning. They will remove the staples, scan the pages and restaple the pages back together. They charge $5 per 10 pages scanned. I figure the total SM and addendums will cost me about $40. Fortunately, I will only have to have the SM scanned once I hope. I will be picking up the SM and the file next week which should give them plenty of time.

I got a call this morning and the SM has been scanned. The cost is $30 which is less than I figured. I plan on picking up the SM and the file this Monday.

Update:

I have the pdf files for the SM now. There are 5 files: files 1 to 4 are for the main SM divided into pages 1-19, 20-38, 39-57 and 58-70, The fifth file is the scan of the 2 addendums. I have reviewed all 5 files and their quality is very good. I printed pages 1,2 and 3 and they are very readable. You may need a magnifying glass for some of the print; but, you can definitely read it.

E-mail me at etd607 at yahoo dot com if you want a copy. Put "SM request" in the subjext field so I know what the message is for. I will just reply to your message and attach the 5 files to the reply.

I will also see about getting the SM posted on the same website that has the SM for the SJT-400 player.
