When watching a DVD, in the middle of the movie, you get up to "flip" the movie without thinking.

You carry a CED stylus cartridge around in your pocket as a "good luck charm."

Laughing Nice! Laughing

If you hook up a CED player out on your patio, had to, the weather here is perfect, for a change. Smile

My long range plans for the backyard include a "drive in theater" in our pavillion, complete with screen and CED/LD/DVD etc.... It would be a real pain to run back to the house and flip a disc (about a 400' roundtrip) Smile

You might be addicted to CED players when you have a nice copy of The Wrath of Khan, and you see one wrapped in cellophaned, and dive for it!

I didn't know there were that many players. I'd like to at least get all the ones with stereo, though it seems only the SGT-200 and 250 can give you the 'complete' content of a disc since they will let you play dual-audio encoded discs as raw stereo (for those who don't know, essentially the 2nd audio track is out-of-phase, with the first track being in-phase mono.) Then again, the SJTs let you see a few extra seconds of video encoded during the "END" mark at the end of sides, necessary to see the "End of Side 1" text on "Memories of Videodisc".

Ryan, I have no doubt that you will!!! It is so refreshing to see the younger generation latch onto these older formats!!!

That's great!!!!! More new blood!!!! These discs do so well after sitting for 28-30 years you can just pop one in, and it will start playing, it is no telling how long this format could be around.

Ryan, did you get the packages I sent you??

You have 8 players, and try to find a place to make room in your man cave for just one more when you find a deal.. OR

You find a wired remote a guy wants to sell, but he wants you to buy the whole player to get the remote (Realistic) You start thinking of the stylus and decide it's a great deal!!!!

You MUST have extra copies of your favorite disc, just in case the other one goes bad.

AND

You MUST have at least 2 spare styli for each one of your players

You might be addicted to this CED hobby if, You and your wife (or hubby) are looking around in an antique mall, or estate sale, AND YOUR WIFE IS SEARCHING FOR CEDs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I love to go to antique shops, peddlers malls, and she is always looking for local estate sales on the internet. About a month or so ago, she found one and in one of the pictures she saw a LOAD of CEDs! Stored correctly, and they looked like they were in perfect shape. She said, we should get there first thing in the morning, and I said, there won't be anyone from here (louisville) that would buy CEDs. We got there around 10am THEY WERE GONE!!! They told us there were people lined up and a guy bought all of them, they went very cheap, I can't remember, I think they were all like 8 bucks. I was sick to my stomach!!!! Next time, I listen to my wife!!!!!
