I loaded a movie into the unit and when it tried to expels the empty caddie it got stuck inside. Apparently the front right corner of the caddie had a hole in it. From what I can see is there is a rod stuck in a position that blocks a caddie from being inserted. After some research I found out that the rod is the mechanical linkage connected to the Actuator Drive that locks out the front door so nothing can be inserted into the unit while the unit is playing. I was able to force out the bad caddie, but the rod is still stuck . And when I tried turning on the unit to see if it would reset itself, it displayed the load L symbol then the double dash and shut itself off. Simply select the link and it will take you directly to the images. This unit was running perfectly before this. Hate to trash it. Thanks

I have had this happen to me several times. All I could do was unplug the player and remove the top to dislodge the caddy. Every time it was caused by the caddy had a split seam. So I always inspect each top corner of the caddy before I insert it in the player. |

Thanks for responding. As in my post, I was able to remove the caddy and when I plugged the player back in it tried to open the door to be ready to load a movie like it usually does. And as I stated in the post it just shut itself off. It's like the machine thinks the caddy is still in it. And the metal linkage/rod is still blocking the opening of the loading door. |
